Nathan co-founded Ashburton-based Genesis Private Equity Ltd (‘GPE’) in 2015. GPE remains the only South Island-based private equity firm which accepts investment from wholesale investors, and invests those funds into NZ-based small to medium enterprises to help them grow. The firm manages ~ $40m as at July 2020. Prior to this venture Nathan was a senior commercial banker based in Timaru, operating in the Mid and South Canterbury market with deep networks throughout the region. Previously Nathan was a Journalist with Radio New Zealand National. Born in Waimate, Nathan has been a long-term resident in Timaru with his partner Lisa, who have two school-age children. He’s also presently Chairman of YMCA’s Butler Street Trust.
